Do Not Be Afraid To Ask For Help!
I used to keep problems to myself. I
never need to request help. This is actually because I
believe that if I ask for help, it'll reflect badly on my
capacity to cope with private issues.
In other words, I was too proud to request help. For
instance, if all my peers understand how to swim
extraordinarily well and I have trouble learning to swim, I'll
be too happy to ask them to split and teach me how to swim
well. I'm fearful that they're going to laugh at my incapacity
to swim. Another excuse that I never desire to request help is
that I don't feel safe sharing my personal issues with folks. I
believe that if I share my private issues with folk, they
suspect that I could be a difficult person. As an example, I
don't dare to split with folks who I worry a lot. I think that
if I shared with folks about my stresses and worries, folk will
look at me peculiar eyes because I am different from them. And
they may outcast me. But after sharing with folk, I find that
basically all folk suffer from stresses and worries at a
previous point or other. It is normal for everybody.
And they can offer recommendations on how to cope with
stresses and worries because they've been thru it before.
Imagine if I keep these problems to myself
I may finish up depressed because I
believe that I am helpless in solving my issues. This
vicious cycle may cause further damage in my life. As an
example, if I didn't share with folk that I worry a lot,
then I'm going to keep thinking that I am the weird one with
such an issue. Due to absence of experience in working with
worries, I am not able to control them well. My worries will
make me feel unhappy and depressed that it's not that I am
in a position to function correctly as an ordinary homo
sapien. I may resort to getting drunk or taking substances
to flee from this distressing feeling. In short, more damage
will be done. It is ordinary for people to have issues too
large for them to resolve alone. It is ordinary for such
folk to request help. Talk to folk around you, particularly
old folk. You may find that they have asked folks for help
at some points of their lives.
What I am attempting to highlight is that any issues that
you have encountered is nothing new. History of human
civilization is so long. This indicates that there's certainly
somebody else which has encountered the same issues as you.
This implies that there are prepared answers to your issues.
All you must do is to switch your perspective and ask for help!
The concept that I can like to split with you : don't be scared
to ask for help when you want or need help.
